Simple Sausage and Bean Soup

This is a quick, simple recipe to help battle the colder weather.  So simple. So delicious. 
 
 
Sausage Bean Soup
¾ lb. Italian Sausage
½ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 16 oz can of butter beans, rinsed and drained
1 15oz can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes (do not drain)
1 TBSP minced fresh basil (or 1 tsp dried basil)
1 14/5 can reduced-sodium beef broth
2 TBSP shredded Parmesan  cheese

*** In large saucepan, cook and crumble sausage with onion and garlic over medium heat until no longer pink, 5-7 minutes; drain.

Stir in beans, tomatoes, basil and broth; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. Top with cheese  **serves 6**

THAT'S IT!!! How simple is that!?
